Spiderman!!

Jackson has a new obsession. He LOVES Spiderman! He has never seen the movies but somehow loves it. It is almost as bad as his Star Wars obsession. So we just had an Organic Market open near the house and they were doing face painting for their Grand Opening. Of course he had to have Spiderman.

We just bought him a Spiderman costume, since all he wants to do is play dress up. I will try and get a photo taken today of that. I got him Spiderman sheets yesterday and he was so excited. He hugged me and told me I was his best friend.

So it looks like I am completely caught up on the blog!!!!!YEAH!!!!! I will try and keep it as current as I can now.

Love and miss everyone,

Going down to South Park.......

So we took the kids camping at the beginning of August. We met my mom, step Dad, and his other grandson, up in South Park CO. I went up with the kids on Friday afternoon and then my brother and sister in- law and Phil met us up there on Saturday. The first night was rough with all of us in the camper and because Ty and Jackson were fighting for Grandpa's attention. Ty is not really Jackson's cousin except by marriage, but they spend a lot of time together so that is what we call Ty. Cousin Ty was having a hard time sharing Grandpa and so was Jackson.

By Saturday I was dying for Phil and my brother Aaron to get there, so they could divert Jackson's attention. I also secretly was dying for Aunt Jess to get there. She has taken a real shine to Adeline and pretty much will not put her down when she is around. She loves Jack a lot, but Addie just melts her heart. It gives me a much needed break.

I was right, when Daddy and Uncle showed up Jackson had tons of attention and things seemed better. I was a nice time with the family. If only it had not rained from Saturday evening until late that night. Our tent was so water logged Phil had to sleep in the car with Jack. I was in the camper with baby.

It was fun, and I am sure we will be doing a lot more camping, but it is so much work. Thank goodness for my mom and Sam and their great camper!

Trout Fishing

Grandma has left and we are all very sad! We all miss her a ton! Phil decided it would be fun to take Jack on a fishing trip. So the two of them headed out on a Sunday morning to spend the day at a trout pond. When they returned they had three fish, all caught by Jackson. He was so proud of them, that he ate them without any problem.

Soccer!

Jackson started soccer this week. It is so funny!!!!! They play three on three, but there really is not much going on, except six preschoolers running in a group after the ball. The best is when one finally breaks free with the ball, and it is in their hands. They run and throw it in the goal. Jackson scored a goal after he ran on the field when he was not supposed to. The coach is great, he just laughed and let him have at it.

Since he starts preschool in two weeks, I decided to hold off on fall soccer. I want him to adjust to school without too much going on. I think we will try indoor Basketball in October and Swim lessons.

I am so glad he is old enough for this stuff now. He is definitely all boy and he loves sports.

The Denver Zoo

One of the last things we did when Phil's mom was here was take the kids to the Denver Zoo. Since we have moved we miss the Oakland Zoo terribly! If you have ever been to the Denver Zoo, it is quite impressive, and it is HUGE! Of course the day we pick to go it is about 100 degrees. There is a ton of walking. We had a good time but at the end we were trying to get out of there fast. Jackson was not really down with this. We were practically running by each exhibit and saying "there's the monkeys" and then 2 seconds later rushing to the bears. Not sure how much he saw in the end, but it was HOT!

The Oakland Zoo does not really have a big snake exhibit, but the Denver Zoo does. Jackson especially loved the poisonous snake exhibit. I hate snakes, I can barely handle the three tiny garter snakes in our back yard. SO you can imagine how hard it was for me to stay in the exhibit with him for so long. Luckily, it was inside and nice a cool.

Mohawk Buddies

Jack loves when I give him a Mohawk in the tub. He loved it when I gave sissy one too!

Grandma enjoys her babies

Phil's Dad left after about a week, but we still had Phil's mom for one more week.

Addie loves watching her dad mow the lawn from this window. She bangs on it to get his attention and he waves at her. She loves it! She is pulling up on everything, but still trying to crawl. Any day now I am sure. She only has one tooth and it is only half way up. She is driving us nuts. Get some teeth already!!!!PLEASE!!!!

I was surprised to get a pretty good shot of both kids with grandma. They sat still...AMAZING!

Our Day at the Train

We had tried to take Jackson to the train ride in Georgtown CO in the mountains on Father's Day. We made the unfortunate mistake of not buying our tickets in advance. Can you imagine the build up to it and then getting there and having to explain to a 3yr old that they are sold out! MAJOR DRAMA!!!!!!

So when we finally made it with Phil's parents a couple weeks later, and he was ecstatic. He told Phil he wanted to ride every day. We laughed because it was about $100 bucks for the six of us to ride for a little under an hour. A far cry from the train ride in Tilden Park in Oakland.

Although the weather was rainy, it was still beautiful.

Grandma And Grandpa come to town!

Phil's parents came for a visit on July 4th. Phil's dad stayed for a week and helped a ton with the yard. Phil's mom stayed for two weeks and helped a ton with the kids. We hung out at home a lot but we did some small excursions. I will post more photos of them a little later.

My brother came over with his wife that same day too.

Crazy Kids!

Just some more photos. The one with Addie in her jumper asleep is hilarious. We have video that I will post later of her going to town in it. After all that jumping you gotta pass out!

Trying to find my Groove.

So it has taken awhile, and I am still not all the way there, but this staying at home mom stuff is HARD! I am still trying to find a groove, but I have joined a moms group and the main lady is from Oakland....small world!

One thing I have been doing a lot is taking the kids to the pool every day. We have a pool in our neighborhood that we pay HOA fees for. It is pretty nice since it has a kiddie pool that is like two feet deep. I also have been taking them to this park on Fridays and having a picnic and letting Jack play as long as he wants (within reason).
I still need to check out the library and some indoor venues for the upcoming WINTER! YIKES!

I need to take photos at the pool, but these are from our park adventures.

The Jury is still out on this thing called FOOD!

More photos of Addie. I think this is her third food feeding, and she still looks worried.
